Geothite is a mineral named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) a German Renaissance man and Novelist who was also fascinated by minerals and early minerology. Goethite is an iron ore and is present as needle-like inclusions in quartz. There is an Amethyst stripe in the Quartz as well.
